A nice translation of "Charlie and the Chocolate factory," will engage young francophone readers as they follow Charlie through his adventure.
Alas, the best pun in the book is lost in translation: "Les bonbons carrιs qui ont l'air d'κtre ronds" is not quite what is meant by "Square Candies that Look Round" and might confuse the reader a little.
Mature readers who are just learning French will find this book easy and fun to read. I found it hard to put down. (At my age-- really!)
