An engaging, fascinating and sometimes lyrical masterwork with a great cast, humor and suspense. The near disaster theme with mystery cause works except at the weak, under-stated end. Extraneous chapters from the erudite, polymath author annoy or distract. Worth the Prix Goncourt? Yes. A top 20 Prix Goncourt winner? No.

L'Anomalie

A well-told tale of the aftermath and resolution of a dislocation of time-space continuity; clever depiction of the psychological impact of the events on those involved and of the reaction of 'the authorities'.

Highly recommend this!

A set of compelling characters are caught up in an extraordinary event. The development of this novel, which leaves the reader piecing together facts that seem unreconcilable but completely relatable, sets it apart. This is a really great novel and a really great puzzle.
